As a company, TNB is responsible of the transmitting, distributing and retailing electricity in Peninsular Malaysia.

At the same time, TNB has also has large pool of companies that is responsible in the supply chain of electricity, support energy transition, enhancing energy efficiency and some are emulating TNB business in others part of the world.

We, Subsidiary Management (SMD), is functioning as stewardship for this commpany and supporting them to be adding value, profitable and at the same time focusing on ESG.

Our portfolio are based on industry clustering; manufacturing, services, infrastructure and utility. In near future, the industry clustering may also cover education, insurances and real-estate.

Our portfolio of subsidiaries are managed according to industry clusters with specific area(s) where they are adding value to the electricity supply chain, energy efficiency, energy transition and carbon management, broadband communication and energy outside Peninsular.

Electricity Supply Chain

INTEGRAX Since joining TNB in 2015, Integrax has aligned its growth with the electricity supply chain and energy transition agenda. Managing more than RM600 million, and growing, in assets, it provides critical port, marine and maritime services supporting Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) power stations, while expanding its capabilities to drive operational excellence and long-term value across the energy sector.
UNITEN Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) is owned by Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) to support Malaysia's agenda in producing sustainable workforce, thus UNITEN is known as The Energy University. Established in 1997, UNITEN has grown into a dynamic institution that blends academic excellence, industry relevance, and real-world experience. Its main campus is in Kajang, an immediate neighbour on Malaysia's administrative center of Putrajaya. The satellite campus is in Bandar Muadzam Shah, Pahang.
ILSAS Institut Latihan Sultan Ahmad Shah (ILSAS) is the official training institute for Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), specialising in people solutioning for human capital excellence. TNB ILSAS has nurtured the human capital of Malaysia's Electric Supply Industry (MESI) for over 40 years. TNB ILSAS conducts training programs for TNB and other companies in Malaysia and overseas in electricity supply chain. Examples of the training is switchgear operation and maintenance, underground cable jointing, and since 2020 ILSAS also providing leadership training.
TNB RESEARCH TNB Research Sdn. Bhd. (TNBR) is the key research arm for Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB). It is located within the locality of UNITEN with aspiration for synergy between continuing education and ongoing real world application-research. TNBR has among the best and state-of-art research equipment for electrical engineering in Malaysia, to support TNB's electricity supply chain's continuity, efficiency and reliability.

Energy Efficiency

TNBES Offer energy efficiency services with specialization in low voltage & medium voltage project management. TNBS is strategic partner for TNB'S Distribuation Network for Strategic Business Unit (SBU) inspiration. TNBES also specialises in small generation from renewables, such as river run through generation, bio-mass generation and rural electricfication through combination of solar and batteries. TNBES also is a major player in streetlighting.
TNEC Build, operate and own District Cooling System (DCS) for TNB. Beyond TNB, TNES operate at KLIA and KLIA2, and a few hospitals and universities in Malaysia. TNEC business falls under the key ET area, where converting existing DCS using gas to electricity.

Energy Transition & Carbon Management

TNBX Offer services in green energy, such as SARE contract rooftop solar, mGET certification, Corporate Green Power Programme (CGPP) and other carbon offset/avoidance solutions. TNBX is also for the defacto EV charging point operator (CPO) for TNB through PMO EV, with the EV equipment supplier from TSG.
GSPARX Built, operate and own (or lease) rooftop solar solution for residential and commercial, including factories. GSPARX also executes Net Energy Metering (NEM) with or without battery energy storage.
TSG* As manufacturer and assembler of energy storage and EV charger, TSG is the supply chain provider TNBX, GSPARX and other TNB's subsidiaries in energy transition supply chain.

Broadband and Optical Fibre

ALLO Build, operate and own (or lease) optical fiber network infrastructure. ALLO also provide high speed broadband using TNB'S extra large and highly collected optical fiber network in Peninsular Malaysia

Energy Outside Peninsular

SESB Sabah Electricity Sdn. Bhd. provides electricity generation, transmission, and distribution services across Sabah and Wilayah Persekutuan Labuan.

In near future, the ESG Platform will also incorparates LLM modules, or artificial intelligence, simmilar to ChatGPT.

Ways to re-use and utilize the ESG data for primarily GHG's Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions and also indirect supply chain emission. We help track, manage, and reduce carbon footprints.
